What the audit covers
A social media audit from dijitul marketing looks at everything your business has on social platforms and asks whether it is working. It has five parts:
- Ownership and access. Which profiles, pages, ad accounts, Pixels and catalogues exist, who owns them, and who has admin rights. This is often the most urgent finding.
- Organic content. Profiles, bios, links and contact buttons; posting frequency; formats; what got reach, saves, shares and clicks; how fast comments and messages are answered.
- Paid campaigns. Objectives, structure, audiences, creative, frequency, cost per result and wasted spend.
- Tracking. Whether conversions are recorded once, accurately and with consent.
- Compliance. Ad labelling for creators, special ad categories and claims.
Each finding is rated by how much it matters and how hard it is to fix, so you can see at a glance what to do first. Where we find a problem, we say exactly where it is and what to change.
Ownership: the problem nobody checks
The most common serious problem we find is not poor content. It is that the business does not own its own accounts. A Facebook page created by a former employee's personal profile, an ad account inside an agency's Business Manager, or an Instagram login that only one person knows. If that person leaves or the agency relationship ends, you can lose years of audience and data.
We list every asset and who controls it, then give you the steps to bring each one into a Meta business portfolio, LinkedIn page admin list or TikTok Business Center owned by your company, with at least two people from your business as admins.
Paid campaigns and tracking
For Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok ad accounts we look at whether the campaign objective matches the business goal, whether the optimisation event is a real conversion or just a click, how audiences overlap, how often the same people see the same ad, and how long since creative was refreshed.
Then the tracking. On Meta we check the Pixel and Conversions API are both sending key events, that they are deduplicated with a shared event ID, and what Event Match Quality score Events Manager reports. On TikTok we check the Pixel and Events API in the same way. On LinkedIn we check the Insight Tag and conversion actions. We also check consent: in the UK, advertising pixels should only fire after the visitor agrees. If the fix is a full rebuild, our conversion tracking service is from £145 + VAT one-off.
Organic content and replies
For organic accounts we pull the last three to six months of posts and sort them by what they achieved: reach, engagement rate, saves, shares, profile visits and link clicks. Patterns are usually obvious once laid out. Video outperforms static, or questions outperform announcements, or one topic consistently lands while another never does.
We check response times on comments and messages too. The 2025 Sprout Social Index found 73% of consumers expect a brand to respond within 24 hours, so slow replies are a real cost. Finally, we check profiles: correct name, address, phone, opening hours, link, and a clear statement of what you do. Small errors here, like an old phone number or a link to a page that no longer exists, cost enquiries quietly every day.
What you get and what it costs
You receive a written report with findings and a prioritised action list: what to fix this week, this month and this quarter. We walk you through it on a call. The plan is yours to use with your own team, with us, or with any other agency.
Audits are charged at £45 an hour + VAT. For a defined scope, such as one Meta ad account plus Facebook and Instagram profiles, we give a fixed quote before we start. If you want ongoing help afterwards, see social media management from £125 a month + VAT or paid social management from £150 a month + VAT. For a review across Google Ads, email and analytics as well, see our digital marketing audit.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a social media audit cost?
dijitul marketing charges £45 an hour + VAT for social media audits, or gives a fixed quote for a defined scope before we start. The cost depends on how many platforms and ad accounts are included.
What access do you need?
Read-only or analyst access is enough. On Meta we ask to be added as a partner with view-only permissions; on LinkedIn and TikTok we use the equivalent read-only roles. We make no changes to anything during the audit.
Do we have to hire you afterwards?
No. The report and action plan are yours to use with your own team or any agency. Many clients fix the quick wins themselves and only ask us back for the harder jobs.
Do you audit ad accounts as well as organic profiles?
Yes. We review Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok ad accounts for structure, objectives, audiences, creative, frequency and wasted spend, plus the Pixel, Conversions API, Insight Tag and Events API tracking behind them.
Can you check whether our influencer posts were compliant?
Yes. We check creator posts against ASA guidance: a clear "Ad" label upfront, not hidden behind "See more", and not relying on "gifted" or "sponsored" alone. We then give you a briefing template for future creators.
How long does an audit take?
It depends on the number of accounts and how much history there is. We agree a timescale with the fixed quote, and you get the written report followed by a call to talk it through.
